We know that exercise to improve strength, balance and flexibility is key to preventing falls, the most-common cause of injury-related hospital admissions for seniors. In spring 2020, seniors more than ever faced restrictions in what they could do to remain active as many needed to live in isolation.
Parachute, supported the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and Community Foundations of Canada, teamed up with Brittlestara Canadian comedian and musician, to create humorous videos to raise awareness about this issue and to provide tips on how to add movement to your at-home routine. The videos, also starring Brittlestar’s real-life mom Bette Reynolds, invite people to visit the Parachute website to download an exercise guide, as well as tips for caregivers.
