Micromobility devices such as e-bikes and e-scooters have significantly transformed urban mobility in the past decade by offering convenient, eco-friendly, and affordable alternatives to traditional motor vehicles. But they have also created some new challenges for urban planning and road safety. Recently, Traffic Injury Research Foundation Canada (TIRF) created an e-poster for the public on riding safety tips. They also prepared a report discussing the risks, regulations, knowledge gaps, and opportunities for micromobility devices in urban centers across Canada. Public Health Ontario is also pleased to share the latest insights in the new environmental scan on e-scooter rideshare programs.
