The Canadian Coalition Against Ageism (CCAA) has created a free online learning tool to help people understand ageism. Ageism means treating people unfairly because of their age. It can happen anywhere—at school, at work, in health care, or even at home. Sometimes we don’t even notice it because it is part of everyday life.

The World Health Organization says learning about ageism is one of the best ways to stop it. By taking this short course, you can help make Canada a fairer place for everyone.

About the Module

Although ageism can affect people of any age, this course focuses on older adults.

The module explains:

  • What ageism is
  • The different types of ageism
  • Why ageism is harmful
  • How to spot ageism in daily life
  • Ways to challenge ageism

The module is free and takes about 15 minutes to finish. It is available in English online, with French and Spanish versions coming soon. After you finish, you will get a certificate of completion.
