CPSI  is offering two more CCPI certification course online sessions for June 2022

CPSI has created two new opportunities this spring for participants who are still needing to achieve Canadian Certified Playground Inspector (CCPI) status. These will be the last CPSI Practical Courses available this spring and are available to those who have completed or will complete the Online Theory Course by June 6, 2022.

CPSI began offering these sessions in the spring as a response to COVID-19 restrictions and had a high rate of participation and many positive reviews.

The online theory course, a pre-requisite for the practical course, is available online and can be accessed anytime from a computer with internet access. The practical course consists of webcast sessions, online assignments and and an online exam.

To register for the online theory course and one of the webcast sessions listed below, please visit cpsionline.ca and and hit the webcast courses button. Limited spots are available so book your spot A.S.A.P.

All participants are required to have access to a CSA Z614:20 Children’s Playground Equipment and Surfacing standard while they take these courses. If they do not have access to a copy, they can purchase a hard copy from CPSI. This can be done upon check-out during online registration or by choosing the document option on the course registration form. Digital PDF versions can be purchased from

If you have any questions about online registration, please contact the CPSI office toll-free at 1-877-536-2338.  If you prefer, a printable registration form, please click here to download.

Webcast Session Dates:

Attendance at all three webcasts per chosen session is required. Participants will also be required to complete online assignments and an online exam to complete the practical course. It is recommended to register two weeks in advance of your chosen session to have time to receive course materials in the mail and complete the online theory course and exam.

June 7th, 8th, and 9th,
9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (Eastern Time)

Session 12 – June 7-9, 2020

June 7th, 8th, and 9th,
2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)

If you have previously taken a theory course or the online theory course or are currently taking the online theory course and wish to achieve Canadian Certified Playground Inspector status, you can register for the Practical course online/webcast sessions.

If you are already a Canadian Certified Playground Inspector you can choose to recertify by registering for the practical course online/webcast sessions.

We advise participants for these courses to purchase a Can/CSA Z614:20 “Children’s Playground Equipment and Surfacing” document at checkout if they do not have access to the latest version.  The courses and the exams are based on this document. Participants are expected to have their own copy.

These courses would be beneficial for anyone training for the first time, or for experienced playground industry participants looking for information to help them understand the changes in the revised standard.

This training is designed for maintenance/public works personnel, daycare staff, health inspectors, owner/operators, private inspectors, contractors, manufacturers, installers, parks and recreation staff, and/or insurance agents who work – or support the use of quality playground equipment – in schools, municipalities, housing complexes, condominiums or other areas that contain public playground structures.

Who should attend:

Professionals who are responsible for designing, selling, installing, maintaining and inspecting playground equipment have an incredibly important job. They are helping ensure the safety of toddlers, children and youth across this country and in local neighbourhoods. If you are one of these dedicated people, you – and your employer – can be confident in taking on this role by having up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge about playground safety and by confirming this knowledge through the completion of the CPSI’s Playground Inspector Certification courses.
